SCOPE OF WORK:
The scope of work on the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts
includes the architectural priority items approved by the district and the campus. It shall include:
A new secured vestibule
Montgomery art theatre lobby upgrades
New shade structures at the existing green space
New canopy and folding partition at the existing green space
New site digital monument signage
Window coverings
AV connections
Lighting controls and equipment in the movement studios
Sound mitigation upgrades to band hall
Stage and room divider added to the music room
Improvements to the Hudson Art Gallery and Black Box Theatre
Exterior work on the historic building due to water infiltration
HVAC
Replacement of all existing lighting to LED
Exterior lighting
PA system upgrades
Fire alarm system
New security devices
BUDGET:
ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION BUDGET INCLUDING ALLOWANCES:
Total Estimated Construction Budget (CCL + Allowances) for CSP # 206914: $7,471,781.48
PRE-BID & LOCATION:
A pre-proposal meeting will be held at 4:00PM on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 2501 Flora Street, Dallas, TX 75201 at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts for all interested parties. This meeting is not mandatory, but information discussed will be extremely helpful in preparation of the proposal.
BID-DATE & LOCATION:
All Construction Services construction procurements must be physically delivered to the Construction Services office, at the Linus D. Wright Dallas ISD Administration Building 9400 North Central Expressway, Suite 800 Dallas, TX 75231. (Call 972.925.7200 for directions). Delivery to other locations will result in rejection of a CSP.
Completed CSP Package Part 1-A, 1-B and 1-C are due on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 2:00 PM (local
time).
Completed CSP Package Part 2 is due on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 3:00 PM (local

OWNER’S PROJECT MANAGER (PM)
Murtuza Kachwala will be the Owner’s Project Manager (PM) for the management of planning,
design, permitting, construction, and post-construction for this CSP. All correspondence and
communication during the contract finalization, construction and post-construction processes
shall be directed to the Architect/Engineer firm (A/E) with copy to Murtuza Kachwala. During
construction, the PM shall have authority to act on behalf of Dallas ISD for Owner related
direction.
