NOTICE: INVITATION TO BID

Scope of Work. The Work consists of:

137 - Julius Dorsey Leadership Academy – Renovation

1. A secure entry for visitors is included in the scope requiring renovation of a portion of the

administration area and an enlarged vestibule. The renovation will include direct entry

into adjacent new reception space and adjacent admin offices. All doors will require

access control card reader hardware to be added. Existing video intercom system will

need to be rewired to new reception desk location.

2. Renovation of existing counselor room to accommodate new clinic spaces.

3. Associated MEP systems, ceilings, lights and mechanical devices will also need to be

updated.

4. Mechanical device and roof hatch relocation will include new roof structure penetrations

and infill of existing.

5. Interior renovation is to include new flooring, ceiling, lighting, paint, and upgrades to

existing teaching surfaces.

6. Exterior renovation scope is to include exterior light and light pole replacement and

updates to main entry sidewalk and marquee sign.

017 - H. Grady Spruce High School - Addition and Renovation

7. Main Entrance Canopy: Main Entry on Old Seagoville Road will receive a new canopy,

secure vestibule, etc.

8. Administration Remodel: The first floor Administration department adjacent to the

Secure Vestibule will be remodeled with a new reception space, offices, restrooms, etc.

9. Miscellaneous Existing Building Renovations: Includes light fixture replacements,

flooring replacement, locker removal, casework replacement, courtyard remodel, ceiling

replacements, water cooler replacement, etc.

10. Autobody Remodel: Includes paint booth removal and replacement, overhead sectional

door, plumbing work, etc.

11. Student Family Resource Center Addition: This addition includes a variety of program

spaces for H. Grady Spruce students and their families including offices, meeting

spaces, athletic spaces, etc.

12. Athletics Addition and Remodel: The addition includes a +/-2,000 seat competition

gymnasium, concessions, locker rooms, offices, storage, etc. The renovation includes

remodeled locker rooms, restrooms, weights room, wresting room, training facilities, etc.

13. Site Improvements: Associated site work for the additions includes new or relocated

utilities, parking, fire lane, community plaza, etc. Various other site improvements

include fencing replacement, public amenities, etc.

BUDGET: Total Estimated Construction Budget (CCL + Allowances) for CSP 207513 $47,635,040.13

PRE-BID & LOCATION:

A pre-proposal meeting will be held at Julius Dorsey Leadership Academy and H. Grady Spruce High School

on Monday, July 15, 2024 for all interested parties. This meeting is not mandatory, but information discussed

will be extremely helpful in preparation of the proposal.

All general contractors and sub-contractors are encouraged to attend this meeting. Contractors will meet A/E(s) and

PM at the school to start site tours. The first site tour will take place immediately following the pre-proposal. The

following is the schedule for each site tour:

BID-DATE & LOCATION:

All Construction Services construction procurements must be physically delivered to the Construction Services

office, at the Linus D. Wright Dallas ISD Administration Building 9400 North Central Expressway, Suite 800 Dallas,

TX 75231. (Call 972.925.7200 for directions). Delivery to other locations will result in rejection of a CSP.

Completed CSP Package Part 1-A, 1-B and 1-C are due on Wednesday, 08/07/2024 at 2:00:00 PM (local time).

Completed CSP Package Part 2 is due on Thursday, 08/08/2024 at 3:00:00 PM (local time).

Any materials received after the respective closing dates / times will not be considered.

The District will open and read the names of the proposers and prices submitted in responsive CSPs beginning at

3:00 P.M. local time upon submittal of Part 2 of the Package, via zoom at Dallas ISD Construction Services, Linus

D. Wright Dallas ISD Administration Building 9400 North Central Expressway, Suite 800 Dallas, TX 75231.

No further information will be officially released until after the date the Agenda is publicized for the Board of Trustees

briefing.
